Hello Maryvale! My name is Janice Baffoe-Bonnie and I’m a senior! I was a part of the senior field trip to New York from March 7, 2024, to March 8, 2024, and I would love to share my experience!
March 7, 2024
The first day when we arrived in New York City, we took a tour around St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The Cathedral was beautiful with the stained glass windows completing the gothic architecture. We went inside and walked around, taking in the beauty of the statues and sculptures.
After we toured St. Patrick’s Cathedral, we went to the Rockefeller Center Tour and we had a little free time to go to some stores! My friends and I went to the Barbie and American Girl doll stores!
Then, the class met up and we ate dinner together at Margaritaville! I had chicken parmesan pasta and it was delicious!
Saving the best for last, we watched a musical named “SIX”, which was a modern retelling of the life of Henry VIII, presented in pop concert form! I enjoyed watching the play, as it was entertaining and the performers were very inclusive.
After watching the musical, we arrived at our hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey, and checked in. The first day of New York was so much fun and I can’t wait to share day two!
March 8, 2024
After we got ready for the day, we had breakfast at the hotel and checked out around 8:30. We took a bus ride to Central Park and had a tour there. After the tour, we had free time to explore the city! My friends and I went to Fifth Avenue and we walked around, taking in the beautiful scenery. We then took the subway to SoHo which consisted of small shops and we did some window shopping. Then, we went to Times Square and did more shopping, as I bought a cute “I ♥️ NYC” keychain! We went to the M&M store where everyone met up when we finished exploring the city.
When everyone met up, we had dinner at a pizza restaurant. As a cherry on top, Mr. Englar and Mr. Levasseur sat with me and my friends!
After dinner, we headed back to the bus and headed back to Maryvale.
