On October 4, 2024, the class of 31’ went to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church for their 6th grade retreat. It was led by the seniors in the 1804 course. The students did lots of fun activities like making casseroles for the homeless, making videos to cheer up kids in the hospital, an obstacle course, making slime and sharing affirmations with each other. We even watched a movie! One of 6th graders, Teagan Silverman, had a great time at the retreat, saying: “My favorite part was probably watching Toy Story 1.” It was her favorite part because she go to bond and laugh with friends.
Another 6th grader who had a great time at the retreat was Emilie Schuck. Emilie stated: “I really liked watching the movie and playing the costume relay race.” Emilie enjoyed the day so much that she would go back soon too!
The reason we watched the movie was because the day was all about bonding and making new friendships. In the Toy Story franchise, you can see that Woody and Buzz have a special bond. I think that everyone made friendships they never thought they would have.
Overall, the 6th grade retreat was a huge success!
