“The Burger”
By Hannah Travis
The best Burger in the city. When I got there it smelled like heaven. I was so excited I had heard so many things about this burger. There was something odd, a faint smell of rotting but I thought nothing of it. The burger was so juicy until I felt a hair, a long blonde hair. I was disappointed so I asked to talk to the chef. The waiter told me to come to the back, but when I got to the back the chef had short black hair. That’s when I realized I was the next serving.
“Cabinets ”
by Gracie Hallengren
Every family in every town has one. It’s a cabinet not particularly odd or out of place. The paint was peeling a bit and the knob was just a bit loose. The inside smelled like dust and the paint wasn’t the same as the kitchen walls. Once a long time ago you used to hide in the cabinets during a game of hide and seek. No one told you it doesn’t open back into your reality. Don’t worry no one told you.
“The Soup Spoon”
By: Maia Betz
Dad has always been an alcoholic. He loves alcohol more than me. One night he came home from the bar drunk, after missing my senior graduation. He made me make him dinner. I made him a bowl of soup and went to bed.
During the night, I jumped up from my bed when I heard a loud thud from downstairs. When I walked down the stairs, I saw my dad on the floor dead with the soup spoon in his hand. Then the police came, and went upstairs to investigate.
Hopefully they don’t find the poison in my room.
“Behind the Nose”
By : Evie Amparo
Friends for decades have secrets. Nobody knows what actually shows underneath my fake character. I giggle and juggle, colorful clothes on me. No one knows who I am.
The circus brings others excitement but for me it brings maliciousness. Mirrors and me have a connection both two-sided. Revenge creeps in my blood.
They laughed at me because they only thought of me as a fool. They deserve nefarious actions done onto them. Bashing heads together, having the time of my life.
Running for your life knowing that I’ll never give up. The fool isn’t me, it’s you.
“Time to Play”
By Kennedy Ott
My room was dark as usual. But this time shadowy figures danced around my room. Was I seeing things? I turned on the lights and everything was normal. My Barbie dolls are still on my shelf, collecting dust. I climbed in bed, too tired to change. I turned off my lamp, and the shadowy figures returned and whispering voices echoed around me. I felt my blanket getting pulled off slowly. I pushed myself up but got pushed down again. I saw something in the dark. Eyes staring down at me. “You will play with me.” She said.
“The Man in the Closet”
Harper Rey
My dad told me to go to bed. So I went into my room, turned off the lights, then slept. I woke up and saw a man in my closet. He just stared at me with eyes as black as ink. He wore a light blue hoodie.
I tried to scream but my voice was gone. He was walking toward me. I felt his hand on my face. Then he said nighty night and I saw nothing.
Then I screamed and my dad came in.
There was a blue hoodie in my closet right where the man stood. Then my dad looked at me, then the hoodie, and smiled
“He’s mine”
Braylin Booker
The lights got darker. The noise got louder. I saw in the distance a house party. I walked in and saw my friend dancing with Jayden . Jayden looked so handsome and my friend looked so happy. I tried to hold my tears back but I couldn’t. I started screaming and crying . I told her everything. I trusted her. My life has already been hard. And the Next thing I knew everyone heard screaming and crying. She stabbed me in the back so I stabbed harder.
