Senior Bingo, a beloved event hosted by the Senior Class Student Council, took place on Friday, February 21. The event brought together students, families, and community members for a night of excitement. The event serves as a major fundraiser for the senior class prom, and this year’s turnout was an overwhelming success—raising an impressive $8,000! Funds were collected through ticket sales ($25 per person), bingo dotters ($5 each), and delicious food generously donated by members of the senior class.
A key highlight of Senior Bingo is the themed gift baskets, carefully curated by each Maryvale senior advisory. These baskets, filled with a variety of exciting prizes, add an extra layer of anticipation to the night. This year’s themes included a Baltimore Pride Basket featuring Ravens and Orioles gear, a movie night basket, a “trendy” basket, a college essentials basket, a beach basket, a spa basket, a baking basket, and a wellness basket. From hometown pride to relaxation must-haves, each advisory put thought and effort into crafting unique prizes for the lucky winners.
Guests of all ages attended, making it a lively and engaging atmosphere. One attendee, Kathy Dalrymple, shared her enthusiasm after the event: “I had so much fun! Even though I didn’t win, it was great seeing parents and friends I haven’t seen in a long time.” The cafeteria buzzed with laughter, smiles, and friendly competition, making it clear that the night was about more than just winning—it was about celebrating community spirit.
The event’s success wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the senior volunteers. Maryvale senior Paige Calvin reflected on the night’s impact: “It was amazing to see the smiles on everyone’s faces when they won a basket. Each advisory put in so much effort, and the seniors and guests were genuinely excited about the prizes.” She also emphasized the deeper meaning of the event: “It wasn’t just about winning—it was about creating a fun, memorable experience for everyone and bringing our senior class together.”
The Senior Class Student Council worked tirelessly to ensure the night ran smoothly, from calling bingo numbers to distributing prizes and keeping the energy high. With such a successful turnout and a strong sense of community, Senior Bingo continues to be a cherished Maryvale tradition. Thanks to the hard work of students, advisors, and participants, the evening was an unforgettable celebration and the funds raised will help make prom an extraordinary event for the Class of 2025.
